How To - Allow Hudl
Posted by , Last modified by Jim Giseburt on 21 July 2017 03:55 PM

Hudl is a video hosting service for coaches and atheletes intended to facilitate access to game footage and atheletic strategy videos. Hudl relies on external content hosting provided by Amazon AWS (aws.amazon.com). Because of its reliance on AWS servers, configuring your Cipafilter to work with Hudl will potentially allow your users to access unintended application data and content that is also hosted by AWS. It is therefore advised that you limit Hudl access from your network to specific groups based on need.

Unblocking Hudl

In order for Hudl to communicate through the Cipafilter, you will need to whitelist the following domains for the intended user groups:

  • hudl.com
  • s3.amazonaws.com

Please keep in mind that whitelisting s3.amazonaws.com will allow users to access a wide variety of content, some of which may not be desirable. As whitelist entries will always supercede blacklist entries, it may not be possible to block access to content that is opened because of the s3.amazonaws.com whitelist entry.
