How To - Setup Cipafilter Authenticator for Chromebooks
Posted by , Last modified by Jose Urquiza on 29 June 2017 01:52 PM

This is a short guide on how to use the Cipafilter Authenticator for Chrome. The first thing you want to do is look at the upper right corner of your Chrome browser. If the app has been successfully installed from the dashboard, you will see a prompt telling you that the extension has been installed.

Close the prompt and click on this icon.

You will now see a screen that tells you that there are no authentication credentials available. Click on the settings button in the bottom right.

After clicking on settings, you will have a new tab open up with some fields. The first field is where you will input your username.

*Note* - You must use your LDAP credentials here, as the Cipafilter Authenticator does not work with Google credentials.

The second and third fields are where you will input your password and then re-confirm the password. Under here, you will find a checkbox that will save your username and password. Click on it. The last thing you need to do here is click on continue.

If everything worked properly, you will see this window which confirms that you have logged in correctly. You may now close the tab.

You can also verify that your username and password are correct by looking at the upper right corner and seeing the status of the icon. If the icon is not green, you will need to contact your system administrator for support.
