This KB is applicable to users on versions 9.0 and above.

This KB will detail how to set up L2TP/IPSec VPN on macOS

Step 1. Open System Preferences and click on Network.

Step 2. Click the (+) button in the lower right corner to create a new network service. Then select VPN from the Interface, and L2TP over IPSec for the VPN Type. You can enter your own service name.

Step 3. Enter the Server Address (or public IP) of your network and the username on the Cipafilter that you are using for VPN.

Step 4. With Password Authentication selected, enter the user password, and at the bottom, select Shared Secret and enter the 'Pre-Shared Key' from the VPN page of the Cipafilter. Then click OK.

Step 5. After Applying, you should be able to click Connect and show that you are connected to the network with an IP address specified on the VPN page of the Cipafilter.
