Notes:  In firmware version 9.5 and later, in order for the filter to send e-mail, it must be configured to connect to an SMTP service, such as that provided by Gmail or your local Exchange server.

Step 1.  Navigate to the Mail Configuration tab of the Notifications page.

Step 2.  Specify the SMTP server that will handle email.  The Host can be the DNS name or the IP address of the SMTP server.

Step 3.  Specify the Port used to communticate with the SMTP server.  Common values are 25 (SMTP), 465 (SMTPS), and 587 (submission).

Step 4.  Specify the Method to be used for connection to the SMTP server.  Choices include:  SMTP (plain text) which is not recommended, SMTP + SSL/TLS, and SMTP + SSL/TLS (STARTTLS).

Step 5.  Some SMTP servers require credentials to use their mail service.  If required by the SMTP server, specify the User Name and Password for the SMTP server.

Note:  The organization's mail administrator can provide all of the necessary account details for use of the SMTP server.

Step 6.  Press Save and Apply to save the mail configuration.

Step 7.  Test the configuration.  Specify a valid e-mail address to send a test message and press Send Test Message.
